Roger Ackroyd Died in June

I don’t know if that’s actually true, but The Murder of Roger Ackroyd was at least published in June, so that’s got to count for something.

Although we are currently not publishing any content that is not related to our efforts to support the Black Lives Matter movement, we are still reading behind the scenes. This month, we’re reading The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie, thanks to our first ever recommendation!

Book: The Murder of Roger Ackoryd
Author: Agatha Christie
Genre: Mystery, Fiction, Classics
Published: June 1926

Description:

Considered to be one of Agatha Christie’s most controversial mysteries, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd breaks all the rules of traditional mystery writing.

The peaceful village of King’s Abbot is stunned. First, the attractive widow Ferrars dies from an overdose of veronal. Not twenty-four hours later, Roger Ackroyd – the man she had planned to marry – is murdered. It is a baffling, complex case involving blackmail, suicide, and violent death, a cast that taxes Hercule Poirot’s “little grey cells” before he reaches one of the most startling conclusions of his fabled career.
